How Our Warranties Work

Your coverage comes from two places working together. Understanding the difference helps you know who stands behind what.

Manufacturer's Product Warranty

We install premium, brand-name films and coatings — including STEK paint protection film and Geoshield window film. Each product carries its own manufacturer warranty against defects in the film or coating itself, for the period set by that manufacturer. We register eligible products with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Prophet Automotive Workmanship Warranty

On top of the product warranty, we stand behind the quality of our installation. If an issue is caused by how we applied the product — not by the product itself, the vehicle, or outside factors — we'll make it right. Workmanship coverage applies to the original installation performed by our team.

Paint Protection Film (PPF) STEK

Clear urethane film that shields your paint from rock chips, road debris, and minor scratches.

Up to 12 YearsWith STEK Ceramic Top Coat
Base Film TermWithout Coating

Backed by STEK. Adding STEK's ceramic coating top layer over the film unlocks the full 12-year warranty. Not every vehicle receives the ceramic top coat — without it, coverage follows the standard manufacturer term for the specific film installed. Your exact coverage term is confirmed on your invoice. Plus Prophet Automotive workmanship coverage on the install.

What's Covered

  • Yellowing or discoloration of the film
  • Cracking, blistering, or bubbling
  • Peeling, lifting, or delamination from the paint
  • Staining that the film's self-healing/hydrophobic top coat is designed to resist
  • Loss of the film's self-healing properties within the warranty period
  • Installation defects (edges, alignment, contamination) under our workmanship warranty

What's Not Covered

  • Rock chips, scratches, or impact damage the film absorbed doing its job
  • Damage from accidents, collisions, or road hazards
  • Improper washing, abrasive polishing, or harsh chemicals
  • Damage from paint that was aftermarket, resprayed, or previously repaired (see below)
  • Pre-existing paint defects, rust, or damage present before install
  • Normal wear and intentional or accidental misuse

Ceramic Coating System X

A nano-ceramic layer bonded to your paint (and optionally wheels, glass, and trim) for gloss, hydrophobicity, and easier cleaning. (STEK coating is used only as a top layer over PPF — see the Paint Protection Film section.)

By PackageMulti-Year up to Lifetime

Backed by System X. The warranty term depends on the coating package selected and is set by the coating manufacturer (ranging from multi-year to lifetime on top tiers), plus our workmanship warranty on application. Your exact term is confirmed on your invoice and registered with the manufacturer.

What's Covered

  • Premature loss of the coating's hydrophobic (water-beading) properties
  • Coating delamination or flaking from the surface
  • Loss of gloss attributable to a defective coating (not the underlying paint)
  • Even, correct application under our workmanship warranty

What's Not Covered

  • Scratches, swirl marks, or wash-induced marring
  • Water spots, etching, or damage from bird droppings, bug acids, tree sap, or industrial fallout not promptly removed
  • Damage to the paint underneath the coating
  • Failure to follow the maintenance schedule or use of prohibited products
  • Coating applied over aftermarket, resprayed, or failing paint (see below)
  • Normal wear and environmental exposure

Window Tint Geoshield

Automotive window film for heat rejection, UV protection, glare reduction, and privacy.

LifetimeOriginal Owner

Backed by the Geoshield manufacturer's lifetime warranty (to the original owner of the vehicle), plus Prophet Automotive workmanship coverage on the install.

What's Covered

  • Bubbling, blistering, or peeling of the film
  • Cracking or delamination
  • Adhesive failure
  • Excessive fading, purpling, or color change
  • Demetalizing / loss of the film's color stability
  • Installation defects under our workmanship warranty

What's Not Covered

  • Scratches from rolling windows before the recommended cure time
  • Damage from cleaning with ammonia-based products or abrasive tools
  • Glass breakage or damage that pre-existed the install
  • Peeling caused by defrosters/factory features not disclosed at install
  • Film removed or altered by anyone other than Prophet Automotive
  • Normal small dust particles or minor imperfections inherent to film installation

Windshield Protection Film Manufacturer + Workmanship

Optically clear film that guards the windshield against chips, pitting, and abrasion.

What's Covered

  • Film defects such as delamination, bubbling, or premature yellowing
  • Peeling or lifting from the glass within the warranty term
  • Loss of optical clarity attributable to a film defect
  • Correct, clean installation under our workmanship warranty

What's Not Covered

  • Cracks or chips in the glass itself — the film reduces risk but does not make glass indestructible
  • Impact damage from large debris or collisions
  • Wiper damage, abrasive cleaning, or scraping ice directly on the film
  • Damage present in the windshield before installation
  • Normal wear over the life of the film

Architectural / Flat Glass Film Geoshield

Window film for homes and commercial buildings — heat rejection, UV blocking, privacy, safety, and security applications.

What's Covered

  • Bubbling, peeling, cracking, or delamination of the film
  • Adhesive failure
  • Excessive fading or discoloration
  • Demetalizing of the film
  • Installation workmanship (residential and commercial terms differ by manufacturer — residential is typically the longest, often lifetime; commercial is shorter)

What's Not Covered

  • Glass breakage, including thermal-stress breakage on glass types not suitable for film
  • Damage from improper cleaning or abrasive tools
  • Seal failure or defects in the existing glass or window unit
  • Film applied to glass the manufacturer excludes from coverage
  • Damage from building settling, structural movement, or acts of nature

Vinyl Wrap Manufacturer + Workmanship

Color-change and partial vinyl wraps. We use premium cast wrap films — including 3M, Avery Dennison, KPMF, Inozetek, STEK, CheetahWrap, and Orafol. Each film's warranty term is set by that film's manufacturer and varies by product and finish.

What's Covered

  • Manufacturer film defects such as premature cracking, excessive fading, or adhesive failure within the film's rated term
  • Edge lifting or seam failure caused by our installation, under our workmanship warranty
  • Correct application, alignment, and finishing of the wrap

What's Not Covered

  • Wrap applied over aftermarket, resprayed, or failing paint — vinyl can pull the paint off on removal (see below)
  • Damage from automatic car washes, pressure washing too close, or harsh chemicals
  • Fading, staining, or damage from prolonged sun, road salt, or environmental exposure beyond the film's rating
  • Rock chips, scratches, abrasion, and impact damage
  • Damage to the underlying paint on wrap removal where paint was not factory-original or was already compromised
  • Normal wear, and matte/textured finishes cleaned with the wrong products

Starlight Headliner Prophet Workmanship

Custom fiber-optic headliner installation creating a "starlight" effect. Because this is a custom build, coverage is primarily our installation workmanship warranty.

What's Covered

  • Fiber-optic strands or panels that fail due to our installation
  • Light source / illuminator defects covered by the component manufacturer's warranty
  • Headliner fitment, adhesion, and finish workmanship
  • Wiring and connections completed by Prophet Automotive

What's Not Covered

  • Damage from moisture, excessive heat, or vehicle leaks
  • Modifications, repairs, or wiring changes made by others after our install
  • Damage from removing or reinstalling the headliner by a third party
  • Electrical issues originating from the vehicle rather than our work
  • Normal aging of adhesives and fabric over time
  • Individual LED/illuminator dimming considered normal for the component

Important Aftermarket & Repainted Surfaces

This is one of the most important things to understand before we apply any film or coating to your vehicle.

Paint protection film, ceramic coating, and vinyl wrap are designed to bond to factory-original (OEM) paint. Aftermarket paint — including full or partial respray, panel repairs, refinished panels, and body shop paintwork — is an unknown quantity: we cannot verify how it was prepped, how well it was cured, or how well it is adhering to the panel underneath.

On aftermarket or repainted surfaces, film and coating can react unpredictably — and when film or vinyl is later removed, it can lift, pull, or peel the aftermarket paint off the panel, even when applied and removed correctly. This is a limitation of the paint's adhesion, not of our work or the product.

Prophet Automotive is not liable for any damage to aftermarket, resprayed, repainted, or previously repaired paint that occurs during or after the application, service life, or removal of any film, coating, or wrap. We will always advise you if we identify non-factory paint, but we cannot guarantee results on it, and any such work is done at the vehicle owner's risk. Neither our workmanship warranty nor the manufacturer's product warranty covers aftermarket-paint failure.
